Our Breakfast Club is for children aged 3 years to 11 years. St Agnes Day Nursery Breakfast Club starts at 7.30am. Children are welcomed into the setting and offered a healthy balanced breakfast. Our aim is to provide the children with a nutritious start to their day. Click here to see our sample breakfast club menu. The atmosphere at our breakfast club is relaxed, and friendly, providing a social opportunity for children to eat together and chat with their friends. We offer various activities to the children such as board games, card games, and other table top activities . Creative activities such as drawing, colouring, arts and crafts. Our construction area and home corner are available for the children and we promote gentle physical play in our garden. We have a calm corner for quiet reading. As the start of the school day approaches at approximately 8.40am staff help the children to pack away activities and line up then our Breakfast Club staff walk the children across to St Agnes Primary School where they join their classes. This provides a smooth transition into the formal learning environment of school. Nursery age children continue to play until their nursery friends arrive at 9am.
Our After School Club is for children age 3 years to 11 years. After School Club starts at 3pm for nursery children and 3.20pm for school age children when children are collected from St Agnes Primary School. We currently do not accept children from other schools for our Out of School Club provisions.
Children are collected from St Agnes Primary School by our practitioners and a register is taken, we then escort the children to the nursery and a formal register takes place. The children are then invited to line up for tea. Our sample tea menu is available here. This snack bridges the gap between the child's school lunch and their evening meal at home. Our menu is nutritious, appealing and a much needed snack for the children. Much like breakfast club our activities are age appropriate and engaging. We have lots of activities available to the children such as board games, arts and crafts, construction toys, home corner and lots of outdoor play where we offer children; bikes and trikes, climbing apparatus a slide and space to run around. We offer a chance for children to do any homework they may have. Children are offered opportunities to learn, play, socialise and develop new skills outside of the formal school day. The range of activities we offer cater for the different age groups , interests and developmental needs of the children in our care.
